For centuries, the girl child in Uganda and many others, women have been looked at as liabilities. Boys were and in some cultures still are looked at as priority-they carry on the family legacy;so they say. This misconception as a result has left many girl children illiterate and lacking exposure to handle the many challenges that they face day in and out. yet; education is one of the best ways of empowering children and ensuring their future. SOMERO Uganda is dedicated to change this trend. It is availing resources to nine young women to be able to acquire an Education.
