“Yes he can? – Sign to support U.S. ratification on the UN Child Right’s Convention.”

Dear organization,

I am writing to you on behalf of PRESS – Save the Children Youth Norway.
PRESS are a non-profit and a non-governmental organization for young people between the age of 13 and 25. Our vision is a world where the rights of the child, as these are formulated in the UN convention, are realized.
PRESS work with several political issues. This year, we have decided to focus on U.S. ratification on the UN Children Rights Convention (the CRC), through an international campaign. We will be the one arranging this campaign, but there will be several organizations from all over the world that will join us. Therefore, this is an invitation for you to join as well, and it would mean a lot to have your support!

The campaign will be a petition campaign through our homepage. Organizations and individuals can go to our homepage where you give your petition and state that you support our campaign for U.S. ratification of the CRC. When the campaign ends, some time during spring 2010, our office in Norway will send all the petition papers to President Barack Obama and all the U.S. senators. We will also have an information campaign to inform Norwegian people about this issue. Resources and material to use in this information campaign will be available on our homepage and other organisations are free to use it. We also hope that we will be able to hand over the petition papers to President Barack Obama on the 10th of December when he is in Oslo to receive the peace price.

This is what we need you to do:

- As an individual you can sign our petition,
- If your organization wants to support the campain you have to e-mail us to goratify@press.no and let us know that you want to support. Then we will put your organization’s name on our homepage.

American government should be embarrassed to be in company with Somalia, as the only ones who have not yet signed the UN Child Right’s Convention! We have to stand together to make a change.
